Thinking about using Grounded Theory Method (GTM)for your dissertation research? This session will describe some of the advantages, limitations and institutional challenges of GTM and the applicability of this method for research in online learning. Online learning is a highly emergent field that requires sound theoretical footholds for action. Current theories are inadequate or non-existent. In order for scholars to advance the body of knowledge in the field they must work from sound theoretical foundations. GTM was designed expressly these conditions.
